Have you ever wanted to run a workshop or event... and just didn't know what to do?
Or were afraid you’d mess things up and embarrass yourself, and your attendees?
Or maybe lose a bunch of money and time you didn’t have to spare?!
Introducing:
This is your invite to a 3-Day weekend intensive where you get to dive into what makes amazing facilitated events.

Have you ever wondered, “Am I doing the right thing?” or “Am I actually helping people?”

- Play Parties

Monique Darling, Cathy Vartuli and Peter Petersen have taught groups of 2 to 200, and presented to rooms of 700+. From seminars, festivals, Burning Man, Sex Geek Summer Camp, and Conferences, in the US and abroad, we have a breadth of experience.
One thing we found is successful events and workshops have a commonality them. There's an actual toolbox that we use over and over again to generate workshops and facilitate them in a way that's really easy.
In fact, Monique and Cathy have on several occasions generated a workshop with 10 minutes preparation, and had people touched, moved and inspired. In a room full of first timers and workshop junkies, everyone felt included, got powerful insights, and several of the attendees were like, "Oh my God, I never thought of it that way,” and “This was the best class I’ve ever had on this topic.”
We used tools from our toolbox so we could create a powerful, safe container, reach people with different learning styles, create educational discussions, experiences and sharing, while leaving people seen and heard...
We’re going to show you those tools so that you can have a framework. Where you actually leave with these tool in your very own toolbox, custom built for you and your style. So that you can build the things you want to create really easily without all the fear and worry as you go forward in your career.
We’ll even help you overcome the #1 cause of failure (or failure to even offer) a workshop or event…
Trying to be perfect… but not knowing what people need is a recipe for failure. We're distilling our experiences so you can walk in with what we spent years learning!
We’ll teach you how to:
- Warm up the room,
- How to anchor the ideas.
- When to give them a break and
- How to get them back from breaks.
- How to mix intellectual thoughts and experiential exercises.
- How to blend that with like some physical movement that really helps the body calm down.
- How to integrate what you teach in a way so that whether you’re teaching an hour workshop or a five day event, you keep people engaged, inspired and flowing along.
Most facilitators get so nervous, they waste weeks and years over-preparing… And they have five times too much information!
Then they throw it all out as hard as they can at the attendees... Who leave drained and stunned!
They blow out their costumers and clients!
Some of the people left these workshops thinking, “I'm really bad at this. There's too much information. I don't know and I can't get it all. It's going too fast.”
Which is the opposite of what you want to do to them! Hope and inspiration are so important!
Maybe some of the more advanced people are fine, but the new people, the people who are shyer, a little intimidated by the topic, are probably just overwhelmed. And may never take another class, or use anything that was shared… They never learned how to…
When you're a beginning facilitator you tend to think that logic is the way to get that information out and its very logic based, and when you have more understanding, when you become more of an experienced facilitator, you start listening to more of your intuition and realize that there are certain little nuances to how to keep the audience compelled and interested on every single word that's coming out of your mouth.
The key is to get them to embody the information!
We can give you a checklist right now, but you have the checklist. The information's not in your body and you’re not going to use it very well.
And that's one of the things we're going to do for the facilitator weekend. We're going to invite you to two evening events that we're running and let you participate so you get a taste of the actual process. So you can experience it even if you're afraid, (and we promise to make a gentle and easy). But so you can embody that and try it out. Get a taste of things and learn your preferences before you’re in the middle of your own workshop, and tune into… “Oh, I would like to do it a little bit this way!”
Don’t over do it like so many organizers and facilitators do! Writing a whole outline and having 30 exercises for a 2 hours class… Throwing too much information at the attendees and overwhelming them!
As you start facilitating more and more … you realize the rooms giving you way more than you could give the room. And you can read them.
We’ll teach you how.
You can still have an outline, and some exercises (and we’ll help you organize them during the 3 days together). And we’ll teach you to pay attention to what’s alive in the room, then bring that aliveness and that energy and what's coming up, and incorporate that to help teach the intention of the workshop or event.
The more facilitation that you do... you start to realize certain cues from the audience of who's listening, who's checking out, and how to augment your delivery so that everybody is really more encapsulated with the information that's coming from who you are.
People want to listen to compelling stories. They want to listen to people that have some vim and vigor and passion and desire for what they're doing. If you're just kind of drab sitting there spewing out all this logical information, you're going to lose people in the first few minutes. We’ll show you how to add the spice, without violating your privacy or making people uncomfortable.
If you can't engage your audience’s brains and their hearts, you're not going to teach them...You can throwing information at them, or help them experience it and live it so their lives are forever transformed!
We’ll help you learn how to trust yourself to be able to hold a room with people and know what to offer that you have experience on, that you love, and help your attendees co-create with you.
We're going to actually walk you through the steps:
- We're going to talk about how you get prepared before,
- How you build up anticipation in the audience.
- How you build relationships with the venue managers,
- The people you might be collaborating or co-teaching with.
- Your hosts, if you're traveling around the world,
- Networking with other facilitators and organizers.
- We’ll discuss bringing people into a room,
- How do you get attendees in the room so that they feel comfortable and can learn?
- How do you start the event?
- How do you give them breaks so they actually come back.
- We'll walk you through all the steps including self-care afterwards and
- How you can follow up so you can engage more deeply.
- We’ll teach you how to use your intuition and notice energy so you can read the room.
- How to create a balance between pragmatic and intuition, and experiential and logical.
- Weaving in discussion, experiences, sharing and introspection.
- How to use story and engagement.
- What if you lose your train of thought? Or run out of material?
You get to come play in your spectrum. And here's the pieces. We’ll help you understand what’s critical, what doesn’t matter, and what’s the frosting on the cake.
So many people do workshops.
We love doing play shops.
Because if you're not loving it, if you're not enjoying it…if you're not diving in to the places that feel good to you, then you're not going to want to continue doing it.
The whole idea of this 3-Day Intensive is to help you succeed in offering your gifts without the fear, uncertainty and all the extra effort that isn’t needed… Once you have your toolbox!
We’ll give you the recipe and teach you how to prepare the ingredients!
You can make it enough for 10 people or 30 people or a thousand people.
You can make different varieties, oh… You're vegetarian? Okay, I'll leave that part out!
You can mix the flavors and change up what you're delivering with confidence, based on who you’re teaching to, what they want to learn, and what you’re passionate about delivering!
